
URALCHEM attaches great importance to professional development and public
assistance to the employees of the companies forming URALCHEM structure. There
are various scaling public programs developed with regard to the interests and
demands of our employees and in cooperation with the trade-unions.
Education and training
URALCHEM complex professional development program covering all categories of
workers, engineers and technicians, as well as managers is aimed at improvement
of the employees’ professional competence and providing the Company with
highly-skilled professionals. Its goal is to create the necessary human
resources which will secure the dynamic development of all parts of the company
in future.
The program uses the internal resources of the Company to carry out
versatility and other kinds of trainings. Particular attention is paid to
training young workers and specialists. there is a tutorial system for
groups and individuals, there are professional seminars for college and
university graduates from which future employees can be chosen.
Partnership programs have been developed in cooperation with
colleges and universities which are carrying out the education of highly
professional workers in relevant fields.
After participating in training, employees are tested in order to increase
the effectiveness of such trainings. Personnel appraisals are regularly carried
out in accordance with the guidelines from the reviewing authorities.
Medical insurance
URALCHEM considers financing employees' medical care as a social investment
directed at our employees’ health and improvement in quality of life as
well as investments which are economically effective.
The medical care programs for employees include voluntary health insurance
paid for by the Company’s funds, regular medical examinations at the Companies’
medical stations, ambulatory care, therapeutic manipulations, a sanatorium and
spa treatment, and seasonal immunization.
Children and young people
The care of the rising generation is one of the most important parts of our
corporate public responsibility policy. Programs for support of children and
young people which operate at the companies have several purposes:
- Education: education of our employees’ children at the company’s
expense;
- Free time: children spend their summer vacations in camps and sanatoriums
in health-resort areas in the South of Russia, go on excursion
trips; we organize various activities for children according to their
interests: music, theater and dancing studios; we employ senior high school
students and university students for the vacation period, support various
sports teams and tourist clubs
- Medical service;
- Encouragement and social support measures: one-time compensations to army
conscripts, who returned to the factories, support of organizations for young
people, rewards to active young people at the year-end, professional skills
contests for young workers, financial aid to large families and handicapped
children
Corporate sport
Physical training and sport play an important role in health support,
uniting groups of people and supporting the formation of important personal
characteristics. This is why URALCHEM supports in various ways different sport
programs created by the Company’s factories and rewards the employees’
initiatives in sport.
The Company's corporate sport is interesting and diverse. URALCHEM
regularly holds sports festivals, games, track and field events and ski
tournaments, organize competitions between departments, the winners of which
are sent to regional and all-Russian competitions. The factories’ workers have
an opportunity to go to swimming pools, gyms and sport classes.
We often arrange sport and hobby activities in connection with holidays: New
Year, Chemist’s Day, Athlete’s Day, the Company’s employees, especially young
people, enjoy winter and summer walking tours, meetings, and rafting.
Recreation and leisure
It is in URALCHEM's interest that its employees not only achieve
success in work but also have dood quality, adequate rest. This is why the
Company develops leisure programs that cover our employees, their family
members, and the company’s veterans.
The workers of the enterprises have a chance to spend their time at the
company’s recreation centers, take part in activities arranged by the
enterprises and devoted to some holidays, take part in competitions between
amateur talent groups, corporate contests, cultural and entertainment
activities.
Accommodation
In order to help the workers who need to improve their housing conditions,
there is an accommodation provision program that includes financing of new
house construction and sale of apartments to enterprise workers at lower
prices, sale of accommodation units in the secondary market, providing hostel
rooms to those who need it. Besides, when it is necessary for employees to
receive a loan, the company can stand surety for them.
Charity
Charity programs financed from the enterprises’ funds are aimed first of all
at supporting the veterans and the retired employees as well as the most
vulnerable groups of citizens in the regions where the enterprises are
present: orphan asylums, kindergartens and clubs, schools, handicapped
children, war and labor veterans.
Financial aid is rendered directly as well as through charity funds. Public
support is not confined to assigning financial aid; the enterprises’ veterans
board arranges visits to sick people, gardeners receive free fertilizers, the
veterans’ apartments are repaired at the company’s expense and etc.
Financial support for employees
In their work, the production enterprises of URALCHEM use
union agreements which are very important to set modern union
cooperation between employer and employee. Collective agreements provide for
regulations regarding working conditions, social benefits and financial support
measures: one-time financial support payments, compensations, and additional
vacation days.
One-time financial aid is also granted to young specialists if they are
employed right after graduation from universities and colleges, to those who
have been demobilized from the Armed Forces and are joining the company, to
those who are retired, who go on vacation; financial aid is also granted to pay
for expensive medical treatment and operations, in connection with death of
close relatives and in some other cases.
Besides, the terms of union agreements provide for 50% repayment of the cost
of some medical services on the doctor’s referral, pregnant women go through
medical examinations for free.
Compensation is paid to the employees, who have received an illness through
their work or an industrial injury; in case of an employee’s death the
compensation is paid to close relatives.
Additional vacation days are granted to pregnant women, first graders’
parents, on the occasion of marriage, and in case of a close relatives’
death.
