On 26 March, 2008 Kirov region administration held a working meeting on the subject of “Priorities, results and prospects of environmental activities of URALCHEM”.

During 2008-2009 modernization of urea workshop will be carried out. There’s a plan to increase the capacity of urea synthesis reactor, and the scheme of synthesis fusion decomposition has already been changed.

Sergey N.Gurnakov’s main goal as Production Director of URALCHEM, OJSC will be resolving of production issues connected with the company’s further development.

The company represented a new group of mineral fertilizers produced by the enterprises of URALCHEM – KCCW, OJSC (Kirpovo-Chepetsk); Azot, OJSC (Berezniki). Compound fertilizers with high concentration of potassium and phosphorus as well as urea drew particular attention of the exhibition participants.

According to Boris Pachgin, Development Director of Azot, «this foundation for quality, environment and industrial safety control systems integration will bring the management of the company to a higher level».

This decision is taken by the company in order to stimulate the demand for mineral fertilizers at the internal market. The URALCHEM’s initiative will let the Russian agricultural consumers avoid some expenses related to acquisition of mineral fertilizers in the beginning of sowing season.

The branch of URALCHEM MC, LLC in Kirovo-Chepetsk informs that Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Works Mineral Fertilizer Plant LLC (KCCW MFP) has been certified in the field of labor protection and has received the Labor Protection Works Conformance Certificate (Safety Certificate) which is valid till October 12, 2012. The certificate was issued by Region Expertise Center LLC (Kirov). The necessity for KCCW MFP to be certified was caused by expiration of the previously existing certificate.

URALCHEM has received a winner diploma of Interregional specialized exhibition UralSelkhozExpo in nomination «Fertilizers and crop protection agents» for development and production of high-quality nitrogen fertilizers.

URALCHEM announces that on 17 January, 2008 the dividends on preferred stock of Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Works, OJSC for 9 months of 2007 were fully paid.
