URALCHEM and RZD Logistics sign a cooperation agreement

JSC URALCHEM and JSC RZD Logistics have signed an agreement on the joint development of logistics projects. The document was signed today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by Dmitry Konyaev, CEO of URALCHEM, and Vyacheslav Valentik, General Director of JSC RZD Logistics.

According to the reached agreement, the parties primarily intend to develop projects aimed at improving the logistical efficiency of export mineral fertilizer shipments. In addition, the agreement provides for the joint development of logistics routes and services. RZD Logistics will consider the possibility of using the rolling stock of URALCHEM and its member companies for export shipments of products in order to reduce the empty mileage, and also, if necessary, will consider using the logistics infrastructure of the cargo owner's production sites.

'We consider our joint work with RZD Logistics as an opportunity to enhance our export goods traffic. URALCHEM systematically executes the strategy to increase the share of high-margin innovative products in its portfolio. At the same time, the efficiency, safety and quality of transportation in this, primarily, intermodal segment are extremely important. We are confident that our joint activities will significantly improve the logistics efficiency and competitiveness of URALCHEM in global commodity markets,' Dmitry Konyaev, CEO of URALCHEM, said.

'The expansion of the cooperation with URALCHEM, one of the largest Russian industrial companies, is an indicator of the confidence in the high-quality logistics that we offer to each client. I am sure that the signed agreement will allow us to jointly deliver all the projects planned; the first of which is scheduled for Q3 2018. Our main task as a logistics operator is to provide the optimal routes for reducing the client's transportation costs,' Vyacheslav Valentik, General Director of JSC RZD Logistics, said.
