Riga, Latvia. January 27, 2015. In 2014, Riga Fertiliser Terminal (RFT), URALCHEM’s own terminal for fertilizer handling in Riga received 1.75 million tons and shipped 1.71 million tons of products. A total of 87 vessels of various deadweight tonnage were loaded at the terminal in the last year.

The terminal was commissioned in December 2013 and managed to complete start-up and set-up operations promptly. In summer 2014, RFT had already reached the expected rate of loads handling and in July 2014 achieved its first record – 11 vessels loaded with more than 250,000 tons of fertilizers. Due to the coordinated operation of all terminal facilities, its technical potential was fully utilised: a modern ship-loader allowing the concurrent loading of two vessels at two berths, with a maximum deadweight of the vessels to be loaded up to 55,000 tons. The terminal has six domes for the temporary storage of fertilisers, allowing the simultaneous storage of up to 130,000 tons of fertilizers.
