URALCHEM announces new appointments
URALCHEM announces new appointments in the Group. From August 1, 2018, Dmitry Konyaev is the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM. He previously acted as URALCHEM’s CEO. Dmitry Konyaev will now be in charge of the company’s strategic development.

Since 2011, when Dmitry Konyaev took over the CEO position, the company has significantly strengthened its position on the market. The commercial output increased from 5 million tonnes in 2011 to 6.3 million tons in 2017. The sales market now includes 80 countries (compared to 50 before), while the company’s product portfolio has expanded by 2.3 times – from 30 to over 70 product grades, primarily due to highly efficient and innovative types of fertilisers. URALCHEM successfully built its own transhipment terminal in the Baltic Sea with the capacity of 2 million tons of bulk cargo per year, which improved the efficiency of the transportation and logistics operations. Thanks to the intense work of Dmitry Konyaev as a member of the Board of Directors and the head of the Communications Committee of the International Fertilizer Association (IFA), the company has enhanced its reputation in the international sectoral community.

From August 1, 2018, Sergey Momtsemlidze, formerly the Director of URALCHEM’s KCCW Branch in Kirovo-Chepetsk, Kirov region, is URALCHEM’s CEO. In the new position, Sergey Momtsemlidze will focus on the tasks of improving the operational activities and the efficiency of the company’s business. Sergey Momtsemlidze headed the largest enterprise of URALCHEM Group since 2011, and achieved significant success in improving the performance of the branch. In particular, over seven years, the commercial output of the plant increased by 13%, the average labour productivity rose by over 12%, the unscheduled downtime decreased by more than 5 times, and the production investment totalled RUB14.3 billion. In addition, the unit built large production facilities for a new, promising and highly in demand product – calcium nitrate.

Dmitry Konyaev was born in 1971. He is a graduate of Lomonosov Moscow State University (Department of Economics) and California State University Hayward (MBA). From 1998, he held a number of senior executive positions with major production and trading companies, such as Sederrot International AB, Mineral Trading and Uralkali Trading SA (Singapore). From 2007 to 2011, he acted as the Commercial Director of URALCHEM, OJSC. From 2011 to August 1, 2018, Mr Konyaev was the Chief Executive Officer of URALCHEM, OJSC. Since 2007, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM and since 2014, a member of the Board of Directors of PJSC Uralkali.

Sergey Momtsemlidze was born in 1968. He is a graduate of Perm State Technical University (Industrial Economics and Management) and the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation (MBA). From 1993 to 2006, Mr Momtsemlidze held executive positions with Uralkali and its affiliated organisations. In 2007, he was appointed the Director of LLC Transportation and Logistics Company of the Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant. In 2008, he was appointed the Director of LLC URALCHEM-TRANS. From July 15, 2011 to August 1, 2018, he acted as the Director of the KCCW Branch of URALCHEM, OJSC. He is a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov region of the V, VI convocations (since 2011).
