Dmitry Mazepin elected Chairman of the Russia-Belarus Business Council

Moscow, Russia – 26 September 2018. At today’s meeting, members of the Russia-Belarus Business Council with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation discussed the main areas of work, approved the Council’s work plan for the remainder of the year, and elected new leaders of the Council.

The event, chaired by the Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Padalko, was attended by heads of ministries and other government agencies, emissaries of the Russian business and finance sector, as well as of various industries and professional associations, and independent experts.

At the meeting, Dmitry Mazepin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Uralkali, was elected Chairman of the Russia-Belarus Business Council. Rinat Gizatulin, Deputy CEO of URALCHEM and Adviser to Uralkali’s CEO, was confirmed as the Council’s Executive Director.

The members approved the Council’s work plan for the remaining part of 2018 and agreed on the agenda for the next meeting, which includes preparing and approving a list of joint projects to be further discussed with the Belarusian side.

Organizations and companies interested in joining have been invited to submit applications for the Council membership within one month, with an option to suggest additions to the work plan and to the list of promising joint projects.

A key task of the Russia-Belarus Business Council will be to assist Russian companies and organizations with finding business partners in Belarus. Other functions of the Council will include law implementation, arbitration in the relationship between business entities and government agencies of Russia and Belarus, development of specific trade and investment projects, and organization of business events.
