Uralchem Partners the Congress of Young Researchers

Uralchem (the Company) became a partner of the 2nd Congress of Young Researchers held in Sochi on 1-3 December. The Congress is this year’s key event of the Decade of Science and Technology presidential programme.

The agenda of the first day of the forum included a session co-organised by Uralchem to talk about the need for research personnel in industrial organisations. The experts invited to the session discussed the feasibility and efficiency of recruiting researches with academic degrees to production facilities, and shared their experience in the business-university interaction process including employer-sponsored post-graduate programmes.

Aleksandra Glazkova, Uralchem Deputy CEO for HR and Organisational Development:

We are seeing a growing need for researchers at production facilities. Some of Uralchem’s plants have for many years had an incentive programme for employees with academic degrees who receive a monthly allowance of 50,000 to 70,000 roubles. Another one of our plants offers additional paid leave days for employees with a candidate of sciences degree.

Aleksandra also moderated one of the forum’s sessions on plant genome editing and took part in the session about the use of biotechnologies in the post-industrial era.

The Congress features a job fair, where participants of the event can talk directly to potential employers. Uralchem’s onsite team will be telling the visitors about its key activities and facilities including manufacturing plants and the R&D centre operated by Uralchem Innovation, a subsidiary of the Company.
