URALCHEM, OJSC Registers its products in European Chemicals Agency

Moscow, Russia – November 19, 2010 - URALCHEM, OJSC is one of the first companies in Russia to register the Group’s products in European Chemicals Agency. Altogether the company registered 27 chemical substances. This procedure is provided for by the Regulation (EU) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). URALCHEM Assist GmbH, a German subsidiary, is the only agent of URALCHEM OJSC in the European Union.

REACH imposes obligations on all manufacturers, importers, distributors and consumers of chemical products to gather information on the hazardous properties of their chemical substances and to register the information in a central database.

Mr. Dmitry Osipov, Chief Executive Officer of URALCHEM OJSC says: “The European Union (EU) is raising more rigorous barriers for the chemical products of poor quality. URALCHEM is totally in tune with these measures. We have done a lot to provide analytical, toxicological and ecotoxicological investigations of properties of our products. More than 60 complex chemical analyses, both in Russia and the largest European laboratories, have been carried out to provide complete substance identification of the fertilizers produced by URALCHEM Group. We were working together with our European consumers and suppliers. Having registered our products in accordance with REACH, URALCHEM has complied with all requirements of European Chemicals Agency. Compliance with the REACH requirements helps us to keep stable supplies to the EU”.
