KCCW won the All-Russian contest for “Ecologically Responsible Business"

Kirovo-Chepetsk, Kirov region, Russia – April 6, 2010. Mineral Fertilizer Plant Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Works (KCCW MFP, CJSC is a subsidiary of URALCHEM, OJSC) won the award in the category “Ecologically Responsible Business” in the All-Russian contest “Best Companies of Russia: Dynamics, Efficiency, Responsibility – 2009”, sponsored by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).

RSPP conducts this contest annually in order to determine the most dynamically developing enterprises in the industry. It aims to facilitate the sustainable development of independent and responsible companies, serving long-term business interests.

Sergey Drinevskiy, Director of URALCHEM branch in Kirovo-Chepetsk, commented: “We focus on the environmental issues, associated with our operations, and strive to minimize ecological risks. In 2009, we launched a water-treatment system, which is one of our latest and most significant projects.”

Today, the water-treatment system based on the membrane technology is the most efficient water-purifying equipment, with a production capacity up to 600 cubic metres per hour. The design, implemented in the plant, was awarded “Best Ecological Design of the Year - 2008” in the category “Ecological Efficiency of the Economy” by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.
