URALCHEM, OJSC is the first Russian company to become full members of the Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) of Great Britain

Moscow, Russia – 6 November, 2009 – URALCHEM, OJSC, (“the Company” or “URALCHEM”), one of the largest producers of nitrogen and phosphate fertilisers in Russia and the CIS, today announced that the Company, via its Latvian based affiliated company, URALCHEM Trading LLC, has been welcomed as a full member of the Agricultural Industries Confederation, AIC.

The AIC is the leading British association of agricultural supply companies. The association was founded in 2003 and currently has a membership of over 300 companies with a combined total annual turnover of GBP 6.5 billion (“ex-farm”).

Members of Agricultural Industries Confederation operate in such areas as animal feed, crop protection, mineral fertilisers, grain and oil crops, and the confederation also oversees compliance with applicable laws and environmental legislation as well as operating trade assurance schemes in the grain and fertiliser markets.

The AIC represents its members’ interests in the political and business community in Great Britain, insures its members’ commercial activities, and provides technical and informational support.

By being the first Russian company to become members of the AIC, Dmitry Osipov, Chief Executive Officer of URALCHEM, OJSC stressed the importance of this event and the future effect it can have on the Company. Mr. Osipov said: “The fact that URALCHEM was admitted to the Agricultural Industries Confederation is a testament that the Company is recognized as an important participant in the agricultural market of Great Britain. Membership in this authoritative association will strengthen the Company’s position in the mineral fertiliser market in Western Europe”.
