Grigory Rapota, the President’s Special Representative in the Volga Federal District visits Azot, OJSC during his official trip to Perm Region

Berezniki, Perm Region, Russia – 17 September, 2009 - URALCHEM, OJSC, (“the Company” or “URALCHEM”), one of the largest producers of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers in Russia and the CIS, today announced that on 17 September Grigory Rapota, the President’s Special Representative for the Volga Federal District visited Azot, OJSC during his official trip to the Perm Region.

The President’s Special Representative visited the plant in order to familiarize himself with Azot, OJSC’s strategy for the development of mineral fertilizer production. Mr. Rapota met with senior managers of Azot, OJSC, visited the production site and the warehouse of urea workshop.

Grigory Rapota was shown around by Valeriy Sukhikh, the Head of Government in Perm Region and Dmitry Mazepin, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM, OJSC.

In his interview Mr. Rapota said: “The visit made a very good impression on me. I saw for myself that Azot, OJSC is a growing enterprise. The managers have many real, elaborate and well thought out plans; they are very positive about the future”.

Mikhail Markin, the Director of the branch of Uralchem Management Company in Berezniki added: “We’ve set our sight on further dynamic growth and fully intend to upgrade production and develop new fertilizer grades to meet demand. Our innovations are the result of specialized development programmes we’ve undertaken to attract young professionals to our company”.
