Dmitry Mazepin, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM, OJSC has been elected Vice-President of International Fertilizer Association

Moscow, Russia – 27 May, 2009 – URALCHEM, OJSC, (“the Company” or “URALCHEM”), one of the largest producers of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers in Russia and the CIS, today announced the election of Dmitry Mazepin, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM as Vice-President of the International Fertilizer Association in the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The election took place on 27 May, 2009 at the Annual General Meeting of the Association, which was held within the framework of the 77th IFA Annual Conference in Shanghai, China.

As Vice-President of the International Fertilizer Association, Mr. Mazepin will be developing cooperation with mineral fertilizer industry representatives, government authorities and research and development institutes in the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. He will also assist in conducting IFA’s policy and organizing IFA events in the countries of the region, and arrange for the analysis and provision of information on the trends in fertilizer industry and agriculture in the whole region and in certain countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Mr. Mazepin will take up political, economic, industrial, commercial, ecological and social issues that have a direct effect on the industry development in the countries of the region.

Dmitry Mazepin commented: “This election obliges me to develop mutually beneficial cooperation among the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the sphere of mineral fertilizer production on behalf of IFA. I intend to extend my best efforts to further strengthen the international community of fertilizer producers”.

Prior to his election to the position of IFA Vice-President, Dmitry Mazepin had held the position of IFA Member.

International Fertilizer Association-IFA was established in 1927. Today, IFA is the largest international union of producers, exporters and distributers of mineral fertilizers. IFA has over 530 members in 85 countries. IFA’s activities are intended to development of mineral fertilizer industry in order to encourage development of the world agriculture. IFA Annual Conference is a general assembly of the international fertilizer association and the key event where representatives of mineral fertilizer producers meet.
