URALCHEM organized the Field Day in the Kirov Region

Moscow, Russia – July 25, 2008 – URALCHEM, OJSC, (“the Company” or “URALCHEM”), one of the largest producers of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers in Russia and the CIS, organized the Field Day in the Kirov Region, the agricultural exhibition which was attended by local agricultural producers and agronomists, as well as by representatives of the regional administration.

At the exhibition, URALCHEM presented calcium-ammonium nitrate (CAN), a promising product developed by Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Works. The Company’s specialists and the employees of the Regional Science and Research Institute of Agriculture (RSRIA) in Krasnoe village demonstrated the successful results of the comparative field tests for CAN which were carried out on the experimental field of RSRIA.

Nikolay Shaklein, the Governor of the Kirov Region, commented: “Calcium-ammonium nitrate is a necessary and high-quality product which will undoubtedly be in great demand. The development of such products allows us to move forward in implementing both the national project aimed at developing the agro-industrial complex and the regional programme focused on improving the soil fertility. We are confident that Kirov region will be one of the first areas in Russia to utilize the new fertilizer for its agricultural needs.”
