Azot (Berezniki, Perm region), a subsidiary of URALCHEM, has signed a partnership agreement for electrical energy supply with Vostok, a Moscow - based energy company. This agreement provides for upgrades for the commercial accounting electrical energy system at Azot by 2008. In accordance with the agreement, Azot will receive wholesale market status. In addition, the company plans to introduce a system for internal technical records of electrical energy. 

According to Mikhail Markin, Executive Director, Director of the Branch of URALCHEM Management Company LLC in Berezniki, the agreement will allow Azot to avoid the monopoly on energy prices and supplies, freely enter the wholesale market of electrical energy and receive more flexible and acceptable prices from suppliers.
