Open Joint Stock Company Azot (Azot, OJSC), Berezniki (Perm region) that is a part of Open Joint Stock Company United Chemical Company URALCJHEM (URALCHEM, OJSC) is implementing a number of activities aimed at modernization of productive capacities of the enterprise.

During 2008-2009 modernization of urea workshop will be carried out. There’s a plan to increase the capacity of urea synthesis reactor, and the scheme of synthesis fusion decomposition has already been changed. The total capacity of urea producing facility in dry urea equivalent will be increased from 43 thousand tones to 52 thousand tones per month.

Besides, it is planned to increase the volume of the total output of weak nitric acid by incorporation of the 10^th unit, which was used before for generation of steam, and increase correspondingly the output of ammonium nitrate to the level of 100%-capacity of the facilities.

During 2008-2009 the instrumentation and automated control system will be replaced by the modern analog and a distributed control system will be incorporated at the main production workshops of Azot, OJSC. These changes will let control the operating practices more accurately, quickly react to all interruptions in the work of equipment and decrease the impact of human factor. This, in its turn, will improve the main facilities stability, increase the power efficiency and decrease ecological risks.
