Azot Branch of URALCHEM increased production of ammonia by 38%

Berezniki, Perm Region, Russia – 12 February, 2013. Azot Branch of URALCHEM, OJSC in Berezniki, Perm Region reported production results for 2012.

The total output from the Azot Branch was 2.05 million tons of commercial products, a 2.2% increase compared with output in 2011.

The majority of the enterprise’s production is made up of ammonium nitrate; the production volume of which amounted to 1.05 million tons in 2012. The greatest increase in production was recorded in the production of technical liquid ammonia, whose production grew by 38.2% to 165,616 tons.

Among its other major commodity products in 2012, the enterprise manufactured 494,174 tons of urea and 156,528 tons of modified porous ammonium nitrate.

Murad Chaparov, Director of the Azot Branch in Berezniki and Perm Mineral Fertilizers, JSC, commented on the results for the 12 months of 2012, "Capital investment for the year 2012 amounted to about 2 billion roubles and allowed us to carry out modernization of the enterprise effectively, and to upgrade and replace equipment. We were also able to successfully complete overhauls of our major technological workshops. Effective implementation of the investment program allowed the company to consistently fulfil its production plan, thereby increasing the production of marketable commodities."
