Uralchem controls product safety at all stages of its life cycle – from design and development to consulting the end user.
As early as at the stage of product design, the Company evaluates its safety and the amount of resources required for production. Specialized organizations determine the possible environmental consequences of the production and use of products and their potential impact on human health. Only after that, the products are registered with the state authorities of the Russian Federation. All Uralchem products have safety data sheets registered in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
All chemicals, individual and in mixtures that are produced, imported and used in the European Union (EU), are subject to mandatory registration with the European Chemicals Agency in accordance with the Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). Uralchem product safety meets the requirements and legislation of the EU regarding the handling of chemicals.
The company cooperates with enterprises of the European Union and understands the importance of environmental security and safety of human life and health. Therefore, it takes all necessary measures to comply with REACH requirements. Through its representative, URALCHEM Assist GmbH, the Company has registered the substances that are exported as part of products to the EU countries and maintains relations with the main consortia for these substances. The company updates substance registration dossiers in accordance with internal corporate changes and new requirements of the European Chemicals Agency, controls the composition of exported products, their toxicological and ecotoxicological properties and fulfills the requirements for classification, packaging and labeling.
Uralchem does not sell products that contain substances regulated by Appendix XVII to REACH. Due to the entry into force of Regulation (EC) No. 2019/1148, ammonium nitrate has been excluded from this Appendix.
The company does not trade products that contain substances included in the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern published in accordance with Article 59(10) of the REACH Regulation.
Considering environmental criteria when launching new productsUralchem takes into account environmental criteria at the stage of development of terms of reference for new products, which are subject to the State Environmental Expert Review and approval of the Company's environmental department.
Experts check the materials used, intermediate products, and the resulting products for waste generation, the presence of discharges and emissions in the technological process, the possibility of reducing energy consumption, water consumption, and the need to adjust the existing standards and limits of physical and chemical parameters.
ISO 9001:2015 certificationUralchem undergoes regular inspections by state supervision and control authorities and independent certification organizations. The latter assess the compliance of Uralchem's integrated management system with the requirements of international standards, including ISO 9001:2015. Compliance with the requirements of this standard has been confirmed at all production facilities of the Company.
