Azot, OJSC received certificates of compliance of the integrated management system that is applied at the enterprise to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 international standards.

Berezniki, Perm Region, Russia – 09 October, 2009 – URALCHEM, OJSC, (“the Company” or “URALCHEM”), one of the largest producers of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers in Russia and the CIS, today announced that Azot, OJSC received certificates of compliance of the integrated management system that is applied at the enterprise to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 international standards.

In addition to the quality management system that has existed since 2004 and complies with ISO 9001 international standard, Azot, OJSC has become the first of all URALCHEM enterprises the integrated quality management, production safety, labor and environment protection system of which has successfully passed certification audit.

Bureau Veritas Certification has been chosen as the auditing company. The auditors mentioned such strong points of the system as leadership and involvement of senior managers; complex factor used to evaluate labor safety at subdivisions; modern information technologies to manage IMS document flow; competence of the employees responsible for system development, application and maintenance.

Application of the management systems that comply with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 international standards is an effective instrument for Azot, OJSC to manage all their impacts on the environment; the system helps to reduce risks for the employees and interested parties and comply with the requirements of supervisory authorities.
