FRAUD ALERT!
Dear partners, this message is to warn you about the risk of scammers operating in the mineral fertiliser market.
For instance, you may receive a letter, email or phone call offering fertilisers on extremely favourable terms.
Scammers may negotiate under the name of Uralchem, use official-looking letterheads and managers’ names, and send payment invoices, draft contracts, or other documents supposedly from Uralchem.
Often, fraudsters lure third parties in the schemes who are introduced as dealers, payment agents, or partners but who are in fact only used to receive payments. They also create websites that are almost identical copies of Uralchem’s official websites, and use similar domain names. The contents of these fake sites almost fully match the original, except for slight changes to contact details, e.g. phone numbers and email addresses may be replaced with fraudulent ones.
Scammers may also use email addresses that are very similar to Uralchem’s official addresses. Being skilled negotiators, impostors can be very convincing — they promise benefits and discounts, and guarantee fertiliser delivery after payment. However, no delivery ever happens.
