Key Assets of Uralchem Group in Level 1 Group of the ESG Index by NCR and RBC
RBC and the NCR rating agency presented an annual ESG ranking of Russian companies. Key assets of Uralchem Group, namely, Uralchem JSC and Uralkali PJSC, were put in the highest group of the ESG Index.
The 2024 survey features 117 companies from different sectors, which filled in special questionnaires. Based on the resulting scores, the entrants were assigned medium, elevated or high compliance with Environmental, Social, and Governance standards.
Designation criteria included levels of air emissions; resource preservation and augmentation efforts; compliance with labour laws and protection of employee rights; charity activities; availability of sustainable development regulations, etc.
The ESG agenda is an important aspect for both Uralchem and Uralkali. The companies actively pursue development of corporate culture and ethics, respect of human rights, preservation of biodiversity, and improvement of energy efficiency of their operations. A special focus is given to safe and comfortable working conditions, and the companies continuously expand career guidance programmes and deepen collaboration with educational institutions to attract new talents.
