Columbian Farmers Appreciated a New Fertiliser from Uralchem Group
The magnesium-containing complex fertiliser NPK(S) 17:6:18(4)+MgO, which was recently added to the product portfolio of Uralchem Group, was rated highly by farmers in Columbia.
A batch of the new product was delivered to Columbia last autumn and was applied to coffee plantations in the Campoalegre area. Consumers reported on visible effects of the fertiliser: the overall physical condition of the coffee plants has improved greatly, leaves acquired a bright and rich green colour, and flowering became more abundant. The farmers were also impressed with the product’s quality and specific physical and chemical properties. Applied as part of a balanced nutrition approach, the fertiliser is expected to bring a 150% gain to coffee yield. Late last year, the secondary harvest was gathered (which accounts for 30% of the total crop outcome), and the main harvesting phase will take place in May-June.
NPK(S) 17:6:18(4)+MgO is a granular fertiliser rich in nitrogen and potassium. It is suitable for all agricultural crops. This new product also contains magnesium, which helps plants to resist stress and plays in important role in the synthesis of proteins, fats, and vitamins, thus contributing greatly to the quality of the harvest.
Irina Shustova, Uralchem Head of Product Marketing Department:
It is great to hear that Uralchem’s fertilisers regularly receive praise from farmers around the world. Columbia is among the world’s three largest producers of coffee. Columbian customers are happy with how our new product performs and so intend to continue its application. Once harvesting there is fully over, we will again collect feedback from the farmers.
