Voskresensk Mineral Fertilisers of URALCHEM reports its results for the year 2012

Voskresensk, Moscow Region, 28 February, 2013. Voskresensk Mineral Fertilisers, OSJC (an affiliated part of URALCHEM holding) manufactured 881.790 thousand tons of commercial products in 2012, an increase of almost 8.5% compared to 2011. The output of fertilizers grew by more than 4% reaching 674.939 thousand tons.

The production of complex fertilizers (NPK) grew by 40% from 126.968 thousand tons in 2011 to 177.761 thousand tons in 2012. The production of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) increased by 64%, from 68.473 thousand tons to 112.497 thousand tons.

The enterprise produced 306.365 thousand tons of phosphoric acid, 2% more than planned. Production of sulphuric acid increased from 102.236 thousand tons in 2011 to 106.077 thousand tons in 2012, increasing by 4%. The output of aluminium fluoride in 2012 increased by 14% compared to the same period the year before, from 6.188 thousand tons to 7.048 thousand tons.

Supplies of products to the domestic market increased by 21.6% compared with 2011 and amounted to 373,000 tons. The total supplies reached 862,389 tons of products, including 673,236 tons of mineral fertilizers.

Investment projects in 2012 amounted to 426 million roubles, compared to 200 million roubles in 2011. Capital expenditure, including the cost of major overhaul and current repairs, totalled 731 million roubles, 164 million roubles more than in 2011. Large-scale investments allowed the effective upgrade of equipment and the replacement of outdated units with new ones. Among the main measures taken in 2012 were the commissioning of a shell and tube cooler to replace the outdated spiral ones in the sulphuric acid shop, the installation of liquid ring vacuum pumps in the phosphoric acid boiling unit in the phosphoric acid shop-3 (EPA-3) and the introduction of a unit for processing the foam fraction from the extractor in the phosphoric acid shop-4 (EPA-4). Also in 2012, major works were carried out towards implementation of the largest investment project in recent years for the production of a new brand of fertilizer, a special water soluble monoammonium phosphate (Multi-MAP).

In 2012, funding for environmental activities was significantly increased, from 52 million roubles to 92 million roubles. The company published a report on environmental performance of the enterprise. Voskresensk Mineral Fertilisers, OSJC was awarded the Medal of Honour "For Environmental Security" and a diploma "For excellence and innovative solutions in the field of environmental security," a diploma from the scientific institute Ecotone and was also awarded the Diploma of the Russian Union of Chemists. The company’s employees were granted the "The Ecologist of Moscow Suburbs" award.

In 2012 Voskresensk Mineral Fertilisers, OSJC confirmed its status as one of the largest taxpayers in Moscow Region. The company paid more than 521 million roubles in taxes and contributions to government budgets of all levels, of which 58 million roubles was paid to the federal budget, 388 million roubles was paid to the Regional budget and more than 75 million was paid to the local budget.

The company also paid about 234 million roubles to various social funds, of which 187 million roubles was paid for pensions and more than 40 million roubles was paid for compulsory health insurance. About 20 million roubles was transferred as contributions to the Chemist Charity Fund.

In 2012, much attention was paid to the implementation of social programmes. Over the past year, the company spent more than 3.5 million roubles for treatment and holidays of workers and for sports and cultural events. Social benefits (a one-off maternity benefit), discount vouchers, interest free loans and financial aid) exceeded 11 million roubles.

Voskresensk Mineral Fertilisers Enterprise continues to actively support social facilities of the city, such as a local branch of the Russian Red Cross, the "Chemist" Leisure Centre, the Council of Veterans, the museum of the enterprise, the non-commercial organization “Drozd” and others. More than 16 million roubles was transferred to support the "Chemist" Leisure Centre during the past year. Funding for the children's sports organization “Drozd” increased in 2012 up to 4.7 million roubles compared with 4.2 million roubles in 2011. Voskresensk Mineral Fertilisers sponsored the ice hockey club "Voskresensk Chemist" for the amount of 5 million roubles. The total sponsorship and charity funding in 2012 amounted to 27.7 million roubles.

The General Director of Voskresensk Mineral Fertilisers, OSJC Sergey Drinevsky said, "Strong performance results, high tax and social contributions, the implementation of social programmes, support of culture and sport, all show the effectiveness of the company in 2012. We will try to keep these rates at a stable high level in 2013 as well. We will continue with the repair and modernization of equipment, measures to reduce the burden on the environment and the implementation of investment projects. All of this will maintain the stability of production at our plant and, in the end will have a positive effect on revenues."
